In 2000, the introduction of the world’s first titanium fiber implanted bass rod stunned anglers around the globe. Now, it has been 18 years since the debut of the EVOLUZION. Megabass will introduce brand new titanium rod technology that seemingly violates the laws of physics. Titanium is an extremely lightweight metal with shape memory characteristics that exhibits an astonishing amount of strength. It is a wonderful metal that is both flexible and resilient. However, that is only when compared to other metals. Carbon fiber is more lightweight than any type of metal, including titanium. Even if titanium is considered extraordinarily lightweight in the world of metals, if you were to construct identical shafts out of carbon fiber and titanium, the carbon fiber shaft, while lacking the rigidity and durability of the titanium shaft, would be significantly lighter. 18 years after the introduction of the EVOLUZION, the Megabass Factory and ITO Engineering have undertaken the challenge of producing a super lightweight metal shaft even lighter than a carbon graphite rod of equal power. The newly born EVOLUZION is on average 17% lighter than past EVOLUZION shafts with 30% more critical fracture strength. While the mass of titanium cannot be altered, by specially arranging the pattern of fibers, reducing the amount of resin impregnating the fibers, changing the carbon fiber component that wraps around the titanium to nano graphite, and reengineering it to be a high taper shaft, this seemingly impossible goal has been achieved. Additionally, a new layering process and cutting pattern have helped achieve a fine-tuned product that balances the demands of anglers with the limitations of engineering. That said, perhaps what ultimately helped to realize the vision of the ALL NEW EVOLUZION was the passion, sweat, and tears of the Megabass craftsmen. The time has finally come for a titanium fiber composite rod lighter than an equally powerful all-graphite rod to be unveiled to the world. The tensile strength of titanium is far beyond that of carbon, and its ability to manage tension far better than low-elasticity carbon. The flexible resilience present in the EVOLUZION is something that can only be delivered by titanium. It is easy to cast with, the lures swim actively, and light bites are easily hooked. The excessive blank-shake after casting that is present with dull carbon rods doesn’t occur with the new titanium construction. Its ability to easily cast anything from lightweight to heavyweight lures goes beyond versatility, letting it adjust to almost any situation and condition.
